Grand opening for the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center Jun 24, 2022
Grand opening for the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center
National Hispanic Cultural Center

The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center on June 24!

What: The New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center offers a central location where visitors to NHCC’s 20-acre site can get oriented, buy tickets for movies and live performances, and learn about the Center’s history. The New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center is connected to the Torreón, or “watchtower,” which contains the majestic “Mundos de Mestizaje” fresco, one of the largest frescos in North America.

People attending the grand opening event will have the chance to enjoy refreshments, explore the New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center, and meet Frederico Vigil, the master fresco artist behind Mundos de Mestizaje!

Where: The event will be held at the New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center, in the northeast corner of the NHCC campus, located at 1701 4th St SW in Albuquerque, NM. Parking is available on the campus’s north side, with access from 8th Street and 4th Street SW.

When: 9 a.m. on Friday, June 24.

Why: This grand opening has been years in the making, as the New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center was originally a part of the NHCC’s master plan more than two decades ago. With this grand opening, we celebrate the Center’s expansion and invite visitors new and old to explore our campus!
