Family Science Days at NMMNHS Dec 20, 2022 through Dec 29, 2022
Family Science Days at NMMNHS
New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

Winter break is nearly upon us, but there are plenty of opportunities for kids to continue learning about science even after school lets out. Join us at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS) for a series of Family Science Days over winter break.

What: Family Science Days are opportunities for kids ages 0 to 9 years old and their families to dive into scientific topics with hands-on activities, books, and story times facilitated by NMMNHS staff and volunteers.

These programs are free with Museum admission and are accessible on a drop-in basis on days when they’re occurring, meaning that kids and their families can stay as long as they want during the programs.

Where: In the NMMNHS Multi-Purpose Room, located near the entrance to the Museum, at 1801 Mountain Rd NW.

When: Each Family Science Day runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The program schedule is as follows:

Dec. 20: What is a Scientist?

Dec. 21: The Force is With You

Dec. 22: Balance

Dec. 27: Be an Engineer

Dec. 28: Wind

Dec. 29: Light and Shadow

Why: Education is a core part of the Museum’s mission, and these Family Science Days offer a chance to foster a lifelong love of science over winter break!
