Fort Stanton Live
Fort Stanton Historic Site

Held annually on the second Saturday in July, Fort Stanton Live brings costumed interpreters from the Civil War and Indian Wars era to the Fort for a flurry of activity. Visitors can expect cavalry, infantry, and artillery demonstrations (no cannons or cap guns will be fired), presentations from writers and historians, tours, old-time games for kids, food vendors, and live performances from period-appropriate bands.

It’s sure to be a grand old time! Fort Stanton Live brings authors, historians, photographers, artists, and various historical vendors to the site to share their crafts and other handiwork. Local food vendors are also on hand to provide sustenance for your day at the Fort, so bring a healthy appetite for knowledge, food, and fun.
