Rooted in indigenous abstraction and modernist aesthetics, Plains Cree artist Jeff Kahm represents a national and internationally recognized presence in the contemporary native art universe. Kahm is associate professor of studio art at the Institute of American Indian Arts. His work has been featured at U.S. Embassies in Colombia, Africa, Canada and the U.A.E.; exhibitions in Japan and Switzerland; and locally at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts and Chiaroscuro Contemporary Art. This is an exciting opportunity to hear from an emerging leader in the newest generation of native painters.
