Samuel F. Tappan (1831–1913), an officer with the Indian Peace Commission, was one of the authors of the Treaty of Bosque Redondo. The recently verified copy is in his own handwriting and is in the possession of his great-grandniece, author and historian C.P. “Kitty” Weaver. Weaver wrote
