In 1879, Seton studied art at the Royal Academy in London; in 1883, at the Art Students League in New York; and in 1884, in Paris. In 1885, his work was compared favorably to that of Audubon. In his lifetime, Seton produced 4,000 paintings, drawings and sketches.
