BAD NEWS QUILT CAPTION

This is a piece that will be in the exhibit made by a New Orleans quilter who returned after Hurricane Katrina to find her house, and that of all of the members of her quilting church group, destroyed. She picked up a molded sheet from the bed of one of her fellow quilt group members and took it home to create a quilt about the devastation caused by Katrina. It is double sided and on one side is titled "Bad News Quilt" and the other is "Shroud to Katrina." Photo: Beatriz Soco
