Haitian Flag Extended Caption
Techniques: The flag uses glass beads on a canvas-like fabric. The beader works blindly on the reverse side of the piece and sews "a crochet" using a needle and a hook with each stitch. The perfect placement of beads and colors on the face of the flag is a testament to skills acquired over many years of practice. A synthetic satin border is machine-sewn around the finished piece.
