Barry Moser is one of the most highly regarded and prolific book illustrators of this or any generation. He has added his touch to over 300 books in the  form of calligraphy, pencil and ink drawings, watercolors and, as shown here, relief engravings. Not since Gustave Dore’s 1865 edition has a single artist illustrated the Bible on such a large scale. But where others have illustrated the Bible in idealized terms, Moser does so with stark insights.
