Halberd Head, ca. 1600

From the New Mexico History Museum

A halberd was a fearsom weapon. Mounted on a long pole, the head was a combination of a lance, axe, and hook that was deadly even against men on horseback. On display in the History Museum’s main exhibit, Telling New Mexico: Stories from Then and Now.
