Thanksgiving weekend schedule for state museums in Santa Fe

The four state museums in Santa Fe will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 for Thanksgiving. If you’re looking for a break from leftovers and football the rest of the weekend, join us from 10 am to 5 pm Friday-Sunday.

While you’re there, shop for unique holiday presents at the museums’ shops, and check out a range of new exhibits at these new exhibits:

Illuminating the Word: The Saint John’s Bible and Contemplative Landscape at the New Mexico History Museum.

Beau Regards from Paris! Post-Impressionist Views by Donald Beauregard,James Drake: Salon of a Thousand Souls, and Past Present Future: Michael Berman, David Taylor, and Connie Samaras, at the New Mexico Museum of Art.

Creative Spark! The Life and Art of Tony Da at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture.

Young Brides, Old Treasures: Macedonian Embroidered Dress at the Museum of International Folk Art. For visitors with kids in tow, the museum’s exhibition Multiple Visions: A Common Bond is sure to wow.

Admission is $6 for NM residents, who get in free on Sundays; $9 for out-of-state residents. Children 16 and under get in free every day.

(Note: The 5 pm closing on Friday, Nov. 25, means the History Museum and Museum of Art will not observe their usual 5-8 pm Free Fridays on this date.)
