The Friends of Folk Art of the Museum of International Folk Art today announced the cancellation of the 11th annual Folk Art Flea and donation days due to public health and safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. This much-anticipated event was scheduled to take place on June 6, 2020.

“Though we had already begun preparations, we decided we could not confidently hold the event this year and ensure the safety of our customers,” said Edelma Huntley, board chair of Friends of Folk Art. “We are exploring other creative ways, including online events, to continue supporting the museum. Flea shoppers are encouraged to visit the Museum of International Folk Art’s website for museum and flea-related updates.”

The Annual Folk Art Flea supports the Museum of International Folk Art’s award-winning education programs. Donations are currently being accepted through the Museum of New Mexico Foundation to support ongoing programs.

Individuals can begin gearing up for the next Folk Art Flea, scheduled for the first week of June 2021.
