FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (Albuquerque, NM) November 1, 2016 The Rotary Club of Albuquerque announces their annual Reading is Fun event at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science (NMMNHS.) The event will take place on the Museum’s monthly free day, this Sunday, November 6, 2016, from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 PM. This family event is appropriate for all ages. Participants each receive passports and will be directed to a variety of literacy activities, including:

-Puppet Theater, where visitors will be introduced to scientific vocabulary; -Craft Station; -Reading station where families can read to each other and together; -Storytime, with bilingual stories read aloud; -Word games, and -A face-painting station.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science will add several tables devoted to scientific literacy, inspired by their own popular progams, (Prehistoric Preschool, Learning Garden, and Young Explorer’s Camp.

Children who visit all the stations and complete their passport will receive a free book as a prize. While the event is sponsored by Rotary, attending and assisting in the event are the following organizations:

Early Childhood and Parenting Collaborative; Albuquerque Public Library; Bernalillo County Public Library; and Explora.
