American Indians on the Santa Fe Trail, a presentation of the Bicentennial Celebration of the Santa Fe Trail
New Mexico Museum of Art
The Museum of Art is hosting this portion of the bicentennial celebration of the Santa Fe Trail. The Santa Fe Trail Association presents Dr. James Riding In (Pawnee), who will discuss American Indians on the Santa Fe Trail.

A founding member of Arizona State University’s American Indian Studies Program, Dr. Riding In wrote an important historical study in conjunction with the National Park Service on the history of interactions between American Indians and non-natives along the trail, particularly the Shawnee, Delaware, Pawnee, and Comanche.

This program will also include music by Marlon Magdalena (Jemez Pueblo) and a Blessing & Land Acknowledgement by Thought Leader Regis Pecos (Cochiti Pueblo).
