Holiday on the Hill!
A Free Day at the Museum for You and Yours!

New Mexico Museum of Space History

The Museum of Space History is pleased to present "Holiday on the Hill" on Saturday, December 17. This free day at the museum features free admission for the entire family, fun activities for kids, holiday carolers, and a food drive at the New Horizons Theater and Planetarium - see a planetarium film or live star show for the low admission price of two cans of food per person!

The kids won’t want to miss all the fun on the second floor as museum educators bring science alive with exciting activities like "Cloud in a Bottle" and "Christmas Catapults". Follow that up with holiday story time and making solar system holiday ornaments - take them home or hang them on the museum’s tree. No holiday celebration is complete without pictures – climb in a spacesuit, don your helmet and elf hat (bring your own)…and smile for the camera in front of our lunar landscape.

Finish off the day in the New Horizons Dome Theater and don’t forget to bring two cans of food per person so you can get in for free to a planetarium film or live star show. See the planetarium film Mystery of the Christmas Star - journey back 2000 years to Bethlehem in pursuit of a scientific explanation of the star the wise men followed to find the baby Jesus. This modern retelling of the Christmas story is sure to charm and captivate audiences of all ages. OR see our special holiday live star show – a guide to happenings in the December night sky narrated by a museum edutainer!
