On May 13, Fort Stanton Historic Site will be launching its reimagined Living History event, with a full schedule of historical presentations, hands-on activities, and tours. This month, visitors can expect a tour of the German internment camp, infantry drills, a demonstration of a Mountain Howitzer cannon, and more. See a full schedule below. Fort Stanton Living History is on the second Saturday of every month, and features a rotating schedule of topics and physical locations. Information about each month’s topics will always be available on nmhistoricsites.org/fort-stanton.

10:00 a.m.: Raise the Colors
10:30 a.m.: Infantry drill with training rifles (non-firing), public participation 11:30 a.m.: Tour of the Old Army Cemetery and Overlook
11:30 a.m.: Vintage games
12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.: Lunch break for Living History actors
1:45 p.m.: Demonstration of Mountain Howitzer cannon (non-firing), public participation
3:00 p.m.: Lowering the Colors
