Theodore Van Soelen. Color Woodcut. Undated, ca. 1950s
Van Soelen departs from his well-known paintings and lithographs of cowboy life in this formal depiction of an elegant carved door. The chile ristras and tiny evergreen trees flanking the door were painted by hand.
