Museum of International Folk Art, IFAF Collection, FA.2017.28.7 Alfonso Sulca was named Gran Maestro de la Artesania Peruana in 1994 in recognition of his pioneering work in tapestry woven textiles and revival of natural dyes. He approaches weaving much like painting, sketching out compositions in advance and experimenting with color on paper.
