Audubon Day: A Celebration of Birds


This unusually-shaped vessel, which may have served as a rattle, is decorated with a bird on top that is possibly a quail. On the bottom and body of the vessel are multiple macaw figures. The vessel is from the Casas Grandes region of northern Mexico and dates to around 1350 A.D.
