The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces recently hired Naomi Terry as its new Deputy Director. She will oversee the museum’s budget as well as assist with the overall operations of the facility.

“Naomi is a great addition to the team here at the Farm & Ranch Museum,” said Museum Executive Director Heather Reed. “Her experience in finance and her skills as a highly organized staff manager who understands and relates well to all people make her a perfect fit for this key position.”

Terry will manage the museum’s other supervisors and play an important role in contract administration, facilities, safety, and customer service.

“It’s an honor and a joy to work here,” said Terry. “It’s an opportunity for me to give back to the community I grew up in and to the state of New Mexico.”

Naomi Terry worked for 12 years for the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department as the District Manager for Las Cruces, spent 10 years in the private sector, and worked six years as Department Manager for the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department.

Terry, who has a bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University in business administration and marketing, grew up in rural southern Doña Ana County near La Mesa, surrounded by chile and cotton fields.

“I have an appreciation for agriculture and the land itself … the cultivation of the fields, the livestock … where our local food comes from,” she said. “Agriculture is too often taken for granted.”
