When archaeologists investigated the former residence of sculptor Eugenie Shonnard in preparation for new Museum of New Mexico Foundation offices, they discovered what appears to be a studio accident that sheds light on her approach to some of her signature works. Eric Blinman and Karen Wening from the Office of Archaeological Studies will present an archaeological perspective on this fascinating Santa Fe artist whose art is currently on view in the museum exhibition Carved & Cast : 20th Century New Mexican Sculpture. Christian Waguespack, Curator of 20th Century Art, will give a general introduction to Shonnard as an artist, her history and training
