Gustave Baumann and Friends: Artist Cards from Holidays Past
Gustave Baumann. Woodcut. 1948
The European Recovery Program, known as the Marshall Plan, was developed in 1947 to provide economic support to rebuild the European economies. Baumann’s card reflected the sentiment of the time, "Here’s hoping we will get the old wreck patched up."
