Celebrate Father’s Day with Community Day at the New Mexico History Museum. See the exhibit Lowriders, Hoppers, and Hot Rods: Car Culture of Northern New Mexico, along with these activities:
2pm: Acclaimed author and cultural activist Denise Chávez speaks on celebratory fronterizo lowrider culture in the “other” New Mexico in “¡Órale! Border Low & Border Slow,” with photos by Daniel Zolinsky.
1:30-3:30pm: Take part in an all-ages Families Make History free monthly workshop. Design a car and paint a miniature metal car just the way you imagine it. Learn about the science of motion and experiment with a DIY car propelled by air.
Free with admission. Sundays free to NM residents; children 16 and under free daily. Family Fun Days are held the third Sunday of every month.
