A Palace in Need of Repair: 1660-1720

This drawing by James E. “Jake” Ivey for the National Park Service depicts what the Palace of the Governors may have looked like between 1610 and 1680—a two-story adobe structure, far larger than today’s version and lacking its now-trademark portal.
